This happened a few weeks before my check ride. I never truly felt comfortable teaching to my instructor until I gained the confidence and began visualizing myself as a CFI rather than just a CFI candidate. For some, teaching comes natural and I don't believe this was the case for me. I spent many late nights and early mornings perfecting my lesson plans (although they still aren't perfect) and sharing my ideas with my peers to see what worked and what didn't work. This forced me to work harder than I ever have in my training. The hardest part was finding ways to effectively deliver the knowledge that needed to be shared with the student. When I first began the CFI course at Parks College, it was quite the adjustment from having someone teach me ground lessons for the first 4 years of my training to now having to teach the lessons myself. Seven months of ground lessons and flights from the right seat taught me many lessons and allowed me to hone my skills, but it is now time for the real learning to begin. A New Certificate! Flight Training | JLast week, I passed my Certified Flight Instructor check ride.
